THE EQUIPMENT

This is my current work horse. It's the Canon Digital EOS 1D MkIV. This simply is the best Digital SLR out for sports photography.

Capable of 10 fps for 100 frames at 16.1 million pixels, these cameras and lenses create superb photos when printed up to A1 or larger size, and are great for magazine and newspaper photos.

I carry multiple 8GB CF memory cards and this gives me around 3000 shots before needing to download the images to a PC.

My main lens is a 300mm f2.8 which is ideal for motorsport photography.

With longer shots I use a 500mm f4 lens which is still usable handheld and is extremely sharp and fast.

For easy hand panning I use a 70-200mm f2.8 lens.
